Gran Torino - I don't know/10 - I can't really figure the film out tbh, obv i am clear on what happens. But considering something like Million Dollar Baby was such a great film with clear cut lines on what genre it fits into (brilliant but deeply depressing film drama) i just don't know where Gran Torino comes in

Yeah i enjoyed it, it made me laugh, but all that seemed to detract from the seriousness of the problems in hand, i.e. the rape, the drive by thing, the gang thing etc etc....

Will buy the comic book next week. I just can't wait for the dvd release. It's gonna be even longer than the theatrical version that was around 2h45min. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Watchmen - 10/10

Excellent movie which follows an excellent plotline as the graphic novel has it, but many things are changed. The ending being the main one. Things also felt a little rushed and the acting was kind of off sometimes, but otherwise it was excellent. Gore-tastic scenes (holy shit the fat guy in jail), great depictions of memorable moments from the graphic novel and Malin Akerman's tits all gave this the score it got.

While I think it was a just about perfect MOVIE, as expected, it didn't live up to the book. But it's not fair to detract from the score due to that. It's damn near impossible for any movie to live up to any piece of literature it's based on, especially considering the size of Watchmen. The Director's Cut that's coming out will hopefully include some of the important missing scenes though.

I really suggest reading the graphic novel though if you haven't done so already. Will help you understand a LOT more about it and what was changed.

Was as faithful to the book as any film could've been. Of course some things have to be changed. To be honest I preferred the films ending to the books.

Its pretty heavy stuff though. Dont go in expecting the same old shit that 90 percent of movies are made of these days. Incredible amount violence and subtle humor. Makes you think about it afterwords.

I dunno, it was too... weird for me. I thought it would be awesome you know, Vietnam war and all. And they scene with the helicopters was amazing. But as it got into them floating down river it just got to psychedelic for me I suppose.

Ya its not exactly a conventional war film. I think of it as more of a psychological thriller or whatever, set during the Vietnam war.
