Not to have two posts in a row arguing against what others say, but...

How do you propose he improves his actions if he does not understand what she feels? If she feels uncomfortable it would presumably be a good idea to find out why and adjust accordingly.

Also the second half of your post directly concerns and again analyzes the reasons behind her feelings. What are you trying to say man? Should he be himself and risk screwing it up, or consider her feelings and play it cool?

If he is a good friend he will be around through many of your encounters with trying to get a girl...
  Your best bet about the girl is to stop Facebook messages... and if you see her in school... if she walks by you... you can smile and say... hey how's it going and go back to what you were doing...   There are zillions of friggin girls in the world...
  Stop thinking so f@cking much and when you meet a cool girl... don't say anything... let them do the talking... and oh boy they will... and just be as confident as you can... and that is your best chance...  You chase after a girl and you get nothing.... unless you are Brad Pitt...lol... 

   I'll tell you one more thing... Girls your age and into their 20s and 30s are more worried about what you think of them than what they think of you...  Have fun and just be you...  You will get your heart stomped on and you will also have some amazing experiences... It goes by very fast(trust me) so enjoy it all...
