This cafe I'm at atm is selling some prebuilt Alienware PCs for $300 and I wanna know if they're worth it... as the page says, they are 1GB of ram with GF6800s and a 64bit AMD athlon, but I can't find what the name/model of it is and thus cannot find out the rest of the specs. Right now I have a Dell 2350 with stock 1.79 single core, a Gf 5700FX LE, and a maxed out 1 gb of ram. i'm looking to up my frames per second so I can at least see what I'm doing in...a game I won't mention.
dont bother save for a better pc, the difference would be marginal
if you say so.
6800 is a definite step-up from your FX5700. The price of $300 is also justified. If you should get it is another thing. Maybe DU can build you a better PC for $300
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
For $300 you can get more.
$300 is next to nothing. Get it. Bargain - even if it is a little long in the tooth...

I'm quite sure you can get something new and better for that price.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Around $320 after rebates.

Hey, lol. Can you post the link to that image. It's a bit squished, and I don't know what version of firefox they're running here, but I can't see the properties of it.

And surely you already have hard drives and opticals you could slot into a new build?

Well, what I have currently is my parents' PC. Not my own. So not really, especially when the drive is a CD drive and the HDD is a <60 GB.FatherTed wrote:

Might not even need the 9800GT. I have a 9600GT and it does everything perfect for me. Not a game so far I've thrown at it that I can't run it on high (@ 1280 x 1024).Noobpatty wrote:

So he got it right? His hard drive is under 60GB?
X > 60
X is greater than 60
I think he means his Hard Drive is less than 60GB (X < 60)

Not unless his hard drive is bigger than 60GB he didn't.FFLink13 wrote:

That 9800GT is just a bargain for that price. Otherwise I'd recommend some HD4670, since they are around $55 after MIRFFLink13 wrote:

Anyway, really good cards. Will play CoD4 high 4xAA 16xAF @ 1280x1024 quite nicely.
