I am was browsing through some military pics on google images and thought I would ask everyone what their favorite military camouflage design is.

For me, I would have to say that the Canadian "CADPAT" is the best looking and best camouflage out there.

I am not choosing the "CADPAT" because I am Canadian. I am choosing it because it is badass.
"CADPAT" is a computer generated pattern incorporating sophisticated Near Infrared protection designed to conceal soldiers from image intensification devices (night vision). Now that and the way it looks and blends in well with alot of the invironments around the world makes it badass. Thats my opinion.

The stuff the USMC uses in Afghanistan/Iraq looks pretty crazy too.

When I first seen the new Auscam for the Australian military, I thought it looked kinda of funny with the circle type pattern. But now it looks pretty cool.
Oh and fucking awsome you are signing up. What are you going to do for a trade? I am going infantry and right now just waiting for my BMQ dates.

Auscam's pretty good if you use it right.

Unfortunately, it's got a bit too much beige in it for some applications (some parts of the bush are greener then you'd think). But it's decent for most cases.

If worst comes to worst, you can put mesh on your head and hide in a bush.

Anyway.. Yea, Auscam rocks. Also what aerodynamic said, that those german uniforms are pretty too.
Those new DPCU uniforms that are issued out now for the Australian Army have a night vision thinggy doofalacky thinggo.

See here, you can clearly see the dude on the left. Now on the right, theres another guy wearing the newer uniform, which blends in with the surroundings at nighttime.

@ panda, the auscam works great up here bro. Even during the wet season (monsoons) when everything goes green. Literally everything.

Yeah they've changed most doctrines and stuff. They're really the best all-around. If all goes as planned I will be one in the next 3 1/2 years...(going to computer programming school here...)

Although I do prefer the USMC's two versions of MARPAT (Desert and woodland), I really like the Russian blue woodland, I don't know how effective it is but it's so sexy in Rainbow 6 Vegas 2

@Bradt, I wore both in service, but the multicam is better, its a better version of the ACU. You don't have to change cammies in one environment to another.

Ye, I know what you mean, I was wondering something though. Is it even possible to have one camo that suits all situations? Because you might be in a field patrolling then have to go into a town and fight, then maybe they'll be a river with some green bushes and trees around it, I think it's impossible to have a camo that suits all situations.

Thats what the multicam does. Check the pictures on the website, this stuff is crazy. The Corps is letting units wear it and SF has started to use it.

/serious Well anyway that stuff looks good for the desert and semi-woodland areas but I think there should be like 4 versions for each general type of climat.

Woodland/Desert/Arctic MARPAT does a good job at that, I'd like to see what the Brits use and what the Russians use please. Seeing as I only know weapons and tactics but I fail to complete my knowledge by looking up camo
