Not only is Ian Flemming Dead but the movies are at best loosely based on his books and more often then not only use the same title or have nothing to do with Ian Flemming's books at all. Bond is his 'character' but stories in the movies are the collaboration of screen writers producers and the directors.

He got married in On Her Majesties Secret Service, but again that was a shit Bond being just slightly above the last 3 Bonds have been the 3 worst made to date.

Connery was the best Bond, he just seemed to suit the Character.

Both Casino royal and Quantum were okay. Not good, for me Bond died when Pierce Brossnan stopped doing bond. Which is also the same time the gadgetry died.

Bring back Brossnan tbh.

I go to a movie to see something interesting and with the slightest modicum of tension. Not to see Mr I-have-a-deux-ex-machina-o-matic-stuck-up-my-ass get out of ridiculously predictable situations in a ridiculously predictable manner.

I like the recent ones, mostly as they go back to the true roots of bond. It seems that most people (Berster obviously excluded) seem to have forgotten or been completely unaware that your not meant to really like James Bond, he's meant to be a cold hearted bastard who uses people to further his means then leaves them before going off to beat the shit out of some commie as he's been ordered to do so. After torturing him in the style of  casino royale.

Craig fits that persona best I think but I also really liked the way that Connery did him as well.
