Might seem like a stupid question for the experienced one (Lookin' at u Freezer) BUT I got a situation on my hands here....

I got a micro atx case for some older dell hardware, and the case fan is a 120mm fan with a mobo power connector, although the board does not have a case fan power connector for it. I had a 60mm fan lying around with a PSU connector and I was wondering if I could use that. The small fan says .45 amps and 12v, the larger 120mm fan is .32 amps but also 12v. The larger fan also has thicker wiring then the small one, so I was wondering if it would be ok to solder the thinner wire to the larger wire on the 120mm fan then rap it up with electrical tape...

if they're both 12v, should be fine...

Yes, it'll be fine.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I've taped wires with duct tape before when I was desperate.

But, if you want to do it right, get heatshrink. It's cheap.
