Putting together a build for a friend

I am looking to put together a respectable desktop for a friend of mine. It should be able to handle Vista Home Premium with Aero 64-bit and come in around €300. Parts would be purchased from www.alternate.at.

He doesn't do any real video gaming at all, but does a lot of stuff on the Internet. The monitor and accessories aren't that important. If you can bring the tower in under €300, though, that'd be fabulous.

I've put together the motherboard and processor already, should be enough:
Intel E5200 Retail €73
ASUS P5Q SE €97

The video card is the only thing I am not totally sure on. I suppose that is my main question: Nvidia or ATi and which?

Oh, I didn't really read OP and figured it was a gaming rig.

Yeah if he doesn't game then it doesn't really matter what you get.

EDIT: On second thought, go with the 3450. Nvidias drivers blooooow.

You think the 3450 ATi would be enough for Vista Aero??? That's the only real thing I am worried about. I know if he gets anything from the 4000 series from ATi or the 9000 from Nvidia, then he'll be fine ... but he doesn't need that kind of graphics power, you know?

If he doesn't do any gaming, then you should look at mobos with integrated graphics - depending on his other requirements, you may find you get better value-for-money that way.

3450 will do aero without any problems, and ati cards generally have better image quality than nvidia.

This is what I have come up with so far:

OCZ 2GB Platinum €32

Totals up at €357 (probably a bit less, but I rounded up on all the costs to the next euro).

What do you guys think? Seem like a pretty fair build?
