I generally ignore them, but after a while they become pissy bitches and keep trying to restart my PC

Is there anyway i can tell them to fuck off, i'l restart my PC whenever i want thanks.

The whole point of nagging is that you do eventually restart.

Your only other option is to turn Automatic Updates of completely.

BTW, Windows is not the only application that does automatic updates ... it seems that most every non-Microsoft product out there has some little program that is doing automatic updates.  If you use msconfig and select the startup tab, you might see several automatic update programs that are running ... I've disabled about a dozen programs in there.
