You guys need to look at it this way, they have like 3 guys in the BF2 section. Do you want them to finish the new patch or fix stats?

I'd rather they made bf2 totally unranked, then maybe people will play for teamwork and to get better instead of playing to get more and more claymore/nadespam kills.

It would be nice to make some medals/ribbons/badges for some sort of teamwork stuff. My main point is wouldn't it be nice to keep it ranked and have teamwork, best of both worlds. People play for stats, on the otherhand people play because its fun to use teamwork.
when i played BF2, i played more for some good and neat awards, and it would be nice if ea made some more. But i know like everyone else that they dont care anymore. and if there are just 3 people working on BF2 1.5 patch, that means they have shifted to other projects. and ea knows that the Stats/leaderboards can be hacked at will. the biggest extreme is when they remove the stats system all together. To ea, its not worth the money also to make software or something that keeps stats up to date and fix them if there is a problem. its a supply and demand issue.

Its just a game and computer game at that. I'm not hatin on anyway saying this. I know a lot of people care about stats, but just think about it for a second. It is a game, games are fun
i agree with you m8, but bf2s is filled with retards who say otherwise. the stats system in BF2 or any FPS is a double edged sword, you get the nice progression earning rewards and stuff with stats. but it is so easily abused. honestly if it werent for a stat and awards system in BF2, i doubt i can play the game for as long as i have. but then again you fill the servers out there not to mention the clan based servers with padders that want to blind your sight with their e-penis.Beer*Abuser wrote:

Like people who care about stat padders. Its obvious they have no life, they are tryin to get cyber awards lol spending all day padding to get them. I play for fun, whatever awards come my way I'll be stoked to get but Its all in the fun, thats the reason I've been playing this game.
You know, we wouldn't have this stats problem if it wasn't for lame ass sorry loosers who hack and destroy other peoples accouts. I see no problem at all with the way the statsystem is working.

If EA can't manage to fix the hacking issues, I think it might help a lot if they simply disabled all the points counters and only leave ranks, weapon unlocks and medals/badges/ribbons with undisclosed counters underneath.
I mean disable the streaming of these counters from the GameSpy service and disallow access to them from 3rd party stats sites.
That way, you'll still get ranks, guns and medal bling-bling, but you'll take away the possibility for hackers to show off their leet hackzor skills with their oh-so-creative invented names.

i bet there is a shift away from the global stat tracking. if they want to prevent all the name and stat hacking, they should use local stat tracking only. it would be the way CoD4&5 track their stats, with no public database as a repository. this is a good move for two reasons.... no more endless stat pissing contests, and no more stat hacking.
