mine keeps my cpu (5200) at 33 right now
used to be high 30's to low 40's with stock

and kev i didnt wanna bother you because you're always busy
eitehr your mobo shows -15c incorrect temps or your room temp is below 10c.

edit: for example my E6750 was 17c idle... which was against laws of physics as room temp was +20c.

edit: -10c might be more correct.

My CPU is at 3.0GHz (from 2.5GHz) and at 1.43V. Makes it hot.

Quad cores will be much hotter than dual cores too.

EDIT:

Coretemp sucks at life measuring AMD's. It says my chip is like 17C.

I guess.

But none of the Zalmans are even on the top 10 on the Frostytech link I posted a while ago. It was a decent cooler when it first came out, but it's not anymore.

that I agree. I had 9700NT. My Q6600 GOs heat at high oc was too much for it to handle

well can you afford it now? its all about how much money you can use... it will cost ~1200USD and that is not debatable...

Unless you're going with a Core I7, get the AMD PH2.

Keep in mind that gaming performance is hardly any different between Core I7 and AMD PH2.
