Probably been said before but mine got better when i set Dynamic Lighting = OFF and Dynamic Shadows = OFF. Can you set game profiles with your video control panel? If so as suggested above adjust the gamma setting.

Are you sure its not just the 'buildings' that your in? I know that some bunkers I go in are just as bright as outside, and others are darker than hell! check a few buildings, see if there is a lighting difference. or if they are all consistant. then you know there is a prob.

Thats odd, I've not had that problem. Like they said above. try to fiddle with dynamic lighting, also try to update your drivers and maybe DriectX.

when I had problems with BF2 it was ALWAYS my  DriectX was outdated or corrupt.

Good luck my friend.

Just turn it off, bright as day.

Important settings: These settings are recommended. Never adjust them unless your system is in dire need of more fps.
Highest Resolution @ Highest Refresh Rate
Effects High -> More visible trails for jets, noob tube, rockets
Geometry High -> To see distant objects better
Lighting Low -> Brighter alleys and interiors
View Distance Scale 100%

Other settings: Tweak to your own desire, taking into account your system's ability. Settings like Anti-aliasing, Dynamic Light and Dynamic Shadows can have major impact on system performance.

Bf2 resets my gamma when I launch or alt tab as some kind of level the playing field feature so I "can't" turn my brightness way up and see people in dark spots easier. I think this has something to do with SF and nightvision as well.

Use a program to bind your gamma adjust to a hotkey, or default hotkeys if you're drivers provide it. Then press the hotkeys in game, and voila huge advantage pour vous. I use ATItool.
