As far as time go's for getting badges, like 50Hrs global and 5 road kills for vet transport badge. and 15Hrs global and 15 kills IAR for mounted MG / TOW.

Question is. if your being driven around in a sand rail in the MG position, does that count as Transport time AND Mounted MG(ground def) time? or is only the driver getting drive time.

if thats the case..

does the AA vehicle count as AA time AND armour time?

or can you only count minutes one at a time?

like MG on hummv is transport time and armor is armor time

Nope. Being on a gun in a Transport isn't the same as a mounted machine gun. Neither is AA considered armor.

Really, the best way to maximize your time is to play commander while in a vehicle, with a kit you need time in.

EX. I need 5 hours with Sniper for a badge, I need 5 hours in a transport for a badge, and I need 5 hours as commander for an award.

The way to maximize my time would be to command as a sniper in a jeep. Now, obviously, you can't do this with every vehicle, cause your team will get very pissed if you command in APC, AA Vehicle, or Tank or anything that flies. However, no one will care if you command from a Jeep, Vodnick, TOW, Mounted(Stationary) Machine Gun, or Stationary AA.

lol... i need time as support and commander, so last night i just cruised around in the passenger seat of an apc. it was tight cuz i was tellin him where to go and we easily dominated the other team

Err. I got the ground defense ribbon sitting in the mounted MG on an HMMNV. Sadly the bloody screenshot shows up with the command screen wide open so you only have my word for it.

thats weird and i have definitely seen at least one screen of someone getting their vet ground defense in the gun on a jeep, all i can think that perhaps the mounted gun doesnt count towards the time needed for GD badges but perhaps the kills from the jeep mounted gun do count
