Now this might be the wrong section but anyways.

Can someone recommend a good program for removing the drums from songs (and maybe shortly explain how to)

I'm a drummer and it would be really handy so i can do my own versions of songs/not have original drum track in videos i make.
Its probably really easy.... but yea i've never done it before

Not too sure how easy it is to do, but Cool Edit Pro is a pretty good program for fiddling with audio. I'm a drummer too, so let me know how it pans out please

Cool Edit Pro is working pretty well... i have to convert all my mp3's to wav to use them but thats no biggie.

CEP was bought out by Adobe, now it's Adobe Audition, but if you;re going Adobe, might-as-well go for Soundbooth CS4, as you'll probably be pirating anyways.

I'm sure there's some form of plugin that'll let you extract the drums, but it's not the easiest thing and it won't exactly be clean.

Instead of just removing the drums. is it possible to just make them alot quieter? like with tweaking freqs and stuff?
