The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

AND BTW i have built some IPL's for £800 in total that are way better than speakers costing 8k.

Yeah, from what I've read I'd say drop the elitist tone and you might be able to squeeze out a tread worth a shit. Even then you're attempting to determine who does and who does not jerk it to a good vibration on an internet gaming forum where anybody can lie and the odds of an expert coming to save the day are zero. Sounds like you should take these threads to an audiophile forum to talk about audio equipment.

Thankfully my family, too enjoys music. In our living room we have a 4.1 set up with all wood furniture. The sub-woofer is about 2 1/2ft cubed. I don't know much about the speakers but I know that they were a few hundred each. It sounds great for it's price range.

I try to listen to decent quality music. I have a nice 5.1 set up in my room. I use higher end in ear headphones (I can't stand iPod earphones).

Now hear this, fellas: music is something to be enjoyed, not something to fight about.

Tech section is about helping BF2s members with tech issues, or just general advice.

Pretty sure it isn't anything at all to do with comparing dick sizes.
