My Maxtor external drive is 500 GB, apparently has more cache than my WD600BB, and with a rpm of 7200 and transfer rate of an apparent 480mbps, could I say...install bf2 on it without any problems?
Should be able to. Would probably load faster than my IDE 5,200 RPM.
It appears as a hard drive to the computer. Why wouldn't you?
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.

I had totally ruled it out as an option but then thought "hey..."
You can, but USB is slower than ATA100.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Its going to be slow as hell.
I once tried, and it failed miserably.
