I am miserable but standing strong.
Taking up rock climbing changed me big time.
lol. I ever tell you about the time we were calling in a fire mission and we had to use a retrans site. The retrans operator had a thick puerto rican accent, which didnt help the fact we were nearly 10 klicks away from the fob and could barely hear the retrans. The platoon sgt with a thick mississippi accent only made things more interesting. One of the funniest/most terrifying army moments Ive had.rdx-fx wrote:
The strange bit here,
ALL of the major pivotal decisions in my life have been preceded by a fairly random whim.
Example;
For no discernable reason, one random day out of 3 years there, I decided to go ask out one girl one random day. The target girl wasn't in, but her new roommate was. New roommate then, wife of 15 years and my little girl's mother now.
Parking my Humvee on the other side of a hill, one day out of the 90 days we were on that site. Just happens to be the day that 1st Cav Artillery decides to have an ammunition malfunction with their 155mm artillery.. 12 times.. on the same exact target location .. my normal parking spot, 7000 meters short of where they should've been aiming, nevermind the fact they shouldn't have been firing over our location to begin with...
Sitting in a Hummvee, monitoring radios while the Ft. Hood III Corps XO does a Yay team! You finished it! ceremony on the newly upgraded table-12(?) tank gunnery range. I'm randomly flipping through radio channels on our 2nd radio, while the 1st radio is tuned to range control. 1st Cav apaches just happen to speak up on an alternate range control channel, that i just happen to be tuned to, basically declaring a 'We gonna start blowin' shit up nao, mkay!'.. on the exact location where the Ft Hood 2nd-in-command is standing....
Really funny when our prim, proper West Point top-of-the-class kinda 1LT responds with 'The fuck you will!. NOT proper radio procedure.
(Picking on 1CAV, just for MWNN's benefit)

Things get raw on the clear creek side. Not no pussy warrior way.
Man, the patch seems worse than nothing to me.ATG wrote:

Scaird my kids. I feel bad about that.
