Just a quick question for those of you that fly w/ the mouse and keyboard...

- and yes... I did a search.. -

I've been flying w/ my trusty Logitech Freedom 2.4, but lately I've been teaming up w/ some guys that are flying w/ a mouse and keyboard..  they can by far, out maneuver me when it comes to avoiding TV guided missles, barrel rolls and other tactical avoidance measures..

I was wondering what mouse settings / sensitivity that help do these actions?  Do you change the controls just for the heli or also for the main mouse control settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I fly with a stick and I can dodge missles easy enough. Dodging a TV missle is quite easy if you see it coming...depending what machine you're in of course. The havok responds like a confused cow.

But, on to your question.

I would imagine changing the mouse sensitivity under 'Helicopter' would improve your rolls, then increasing the yaw and pitch would increase your keyboard buttons so you could roll and move faster.

I find the best way to dodge TV missles, is when you're in a dogfight try to stay at around 1/2 - 3/4 throttle. That way, when you see a missle coming you can roll and goose it and you will swing to the side a bit quicker than you would if you had it on full the whole time.

If your Logitech came with a Profiler program or something, you can usually turn up the sensitivity on the axises.

Sensitivity- 5.5 or 6. Yaw- 10. Pitch- 7.

I can change the sensitivity on my mouse too for times when i want to make quicker turns. I feel usually though sensitivity over 6 is just too twitchy. Only change the heli controls. Id advise binding reverse view to a mouse button as well, it never hurts to look behind you regularly. You can avoid TV missiles by doing so or a pilot setting you up to hit you with rockets.

having a mouse with a bollock load of buttons on makes life nice and simple, also havein a mouse that can handle fast motions is good, anything over 15G accelleration (ie most of, if not all the razer range)

Agreed. I have some crappy 15$ Micro Innovations mouse, with just the two mouse buttons. I need to get me one of those 15 button mice.

If only I had money..

blah razer are over rated. Logitech MX518 ftw. The sensitivty adjustment on the fly is invaluable.

I have the Logitech MX3000 keyboard and the MX1000 mouse...  it has several buttons that I could setup..

How do you bind buttons on the mouse?  Set them in the controls?

You seem to be getting your back up over a mouse. Anyway dont talk about looks when the tacky razer mice are involved, tbh there arent any nice look mice around. I never said razer didnt have dpi adjustment, thats a point I was making about the mx518 it has dpi buttons. From reading countless reviews and opinions from people I played CS with, the razer mice are basically shite.

I'm trying to get my helo controls back to what they were before I reformatted. I had it real smooth before and think I'm close to my old settings. Now I have sensitivity between 3 and 3.4ish. Pith factor 2 and yaw at 1.
