[Civilan Car Wars] Map Modder needed!!

SplinterStrike and I are working on getting this event off the ground.

Currently we need someone with the expertise to mod Jalalabad to have all civilian cars from SF on it. Have the two teams be Spetz and Rebels, and have all the kits be AT.

I've found THIS tutorial on bfeditor.org on how to make a map...But I think it's a little more then what I can do

I think it would be ideal to set up the vehicles for each team in the main U.S base for SPETZ and at the Mosque for Rebels.

If you asked me a year ago, I would gladly of help you. But I haven't touched the bf2editor since then.

Adding civilian cars from SF and changing the teams to Spetz/Rebels isn't that hard.
Having all the kits to be AT isn't that complicated either, I've changed a lot of stuff for each kit when I was doing some modding back then.

If you really can't find anyone else, I might give it a shot and reinstall everything. Shouldn't be too hard to get back into it

Ya, I was told it wasn't difficult just to mod a map. But I haven't found a tutorial on how to do just that, I found the one on how to MAKE maps, and it didn't seem to give any hints about modding existing maps.

I honestly wanna give modding a try, but I haven't found an tutorials yet on it. Perhaps I'll just give that map making tutorial a good read one night.

Edit: Damn, I don't have SF anymore so I don't have the objects from it
Unless if someone can send me the files I need from SF, I won't be able to do anything. That would be vehicles, weapons, armies, possibly some other stuff..

I would be happy to. I can upload the files to fileplanet and give u a download link. I'll look in my bf2 directory. Not sure what all u need?

Edit: Objects_client.zip? Or do you want the whole xpack folder which is 700mb? The objects zip file is 250mb. Think that has everything u need?

Wasn't the forkwars mod server side? That was the forks from SF on a vanilla map. And i'm pretty sure that was server side, or was it not?

No idea, but if a vehicle isn't included within the original map, it can't be server side.

I think I remember how to set up the kits, but Im having a bit of difficulty regarding the civvie cars. I'll try and find out at some point.

no, we had to download the map. it wasn't a big deal though, we just put it in the proper folder, making sure to back up the original. then when we joined it was the fork war map.

All the stuff you want to do can be done just with notepad. There's a big thread around here somewhere that has instructions... Ah, here it is.

The map works in SF however, even after I altered the kits to all use the RPG AT kit, with Spetz and Rebel skins, and all the vehicles to the civvie car it doesn't stay that way. It reverts back to everything in ordinary Jalalabad, USMC vs MEC and all the original vehicles. So not sure what to do now, sorry.

Titch did the forkwars map, he'd be your best bet, but I don't know if he's on here much or at all these days.

Catbox has also helped me with some map issues before, he's still around on here.

Also, is there a way to try it on a different map? Maybe Jalalabad just wont work, perhaps because it was an add-on map, I don't know...Can you try the mods on, say...Sharqi?
