I was thinking about getting a netbook but could not decide between the two. The only differences I see are the EeePC has a larger HDD and is slighty smaller. Anyone have experience with either of these and can recommend one over the other?

They're practically the same. Doesn't really matter which one you choose.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

My advice to you is wait for the new sling of EEE PCs coming out. There is a new convertible tablet coming out in the summer.

OR

Get the 1000HE (it has like 8 hours of battery life). Cryin shame you aren't in Europe, though. You could get one of the GO models and really be mobile. But you really should look into the EEE PC line. They look better and the quality on them just keeps getting better.
