lol, some kid does this exact same shit on that TV program: The Wire (season 4)GodFather wrote:
So about a month ago, I was shopping at Sam's Club, and I passed the candy isle... And I saw Pixie Stix, 50 of them, for 11 dollars... A thought hit me, "Damn, I could sell the shit out of these"
Boy was I right, a day and a half later I had 50 bucks, or $39 profit...
I decided to widen the scale of the operation, I bought another $22 worth of pixie sticks, and got two of my friends in on it... (Ones a senior with some junior classes, which means more kids to sell to) now I had $100, or $78 profit, about 3 days later...
After we sold all those, I decided to expand my product line...
So I went to Sam's club, and spend $80 on candy and gum (pic below, lighter used for size reference)

Prices:
Ring Pops: 50c each
Sour Ropes: $1
Pixie Stix: $1
Gum: $1
Nerds Rope: $1
That was like last Thursday, and we just moved most of the stuff into my locker (we were bringing in like 15 items each a day, and running out)
Today, we began making a profit, so far we've sold $83 of our new items (plus unaccounted change) and still have a good amount left
If you were interested, we sell in our classes, with little effort... The most effort we go through is probably lunch, if we have a few minutes, we go up to a group of people, with candy in hand, and ask one person, "Hey, you want to buy a nerds rope for a buck?" and then other people say, "A buck?? Here *hands dollar* let me get some sour ropes"
Basically the same thing in classes...
I thought I'd share my accomplishment with you guise...
Entrepreneurship ftw
You wont make much profit when selling at 50cEcilop Murof wrote:
Man, this would be so epic win. I have 2 nearby schools, they sell skittles and shit but its $1.20
If I could sell it for $0.50 I'd be making 20 dollars a day no shit.
Question, do you have all the candy in your backpack?
Really nice job! 1+
Think of it this way... Bills are more prevalent than coins, I personally never carry coins (unless selling) and its WAY easier to find someone with $1 than .50c unless your doing a 2/1$ deal, but you would still only make 20c per sale (when buying at 40c or so a piece)
Charge $1 per package of skittles
Also, I along with another friend in the venture (recently joined) has cleaned out the locker with the exception of literally one or two books (only ones we use MONTHLY) and stock the locker FULL of candy (I will take a picture this morning if I remember) we then load our bags with candy, but not so much that it becomes encumbering. When we run low on something, or out, or the bag feels too light, we go to the most convenient locker and load up.
What I've learned:
Variety is everything, people become EASILY bored, and you need to steady bring in new product, and remove old. This is also why we sold so well with new sellers (I call them soldiers ) because the students in the classes haven't been exposed to our great deals (Most people are wary of strangers trying to sell them things) they buy it like it wont be there tomorrow, but it is, and again, they buy it...
basic formula (different letters represent different kinds, each space represents time increments and what you should be selling
a
a
abc
abcd
bcd
bcde
bcdef
cdef
abg
-whatever sold best-
you get the drift
Try to spice it up, see what sells the best, when you venture on new things (for us, its currently 5 hour energy, and meat sticks) only buy $15 or so worth (5 hour energy is an exception @ $35 per package, but I'm sure it will sell)
Good luck
I think your on to something

Ever since they banned sodas and other "unhealthy" items from school, people have made a killing off of selling Airheads or Snickers bars, it's amazing. As far as I recall, it was against school rules at my school, but people still did it. Of course, one got caught, but he just got let off with a stern warning.
last time i checked, beef jerky wasn't candyGodFather wrote:
Update:
I've moved up in scale...
I now have 4 other people selling (I still sell a little bit but they pull 90% of the work)
I just bought $84 in candy Monday, and sold it ALL by Wednesday...
So today I bought $216 of candy and hope to sell most of it by the beginning of next week (mind you I only had everyone selling on Tuesday)
Heres a pic of $216 worth of candy...
