yes we can. If u OC to 1GHz, u are looking at 100% fanspeed. IF that is even possible with most cards (the one in the test might have been hand picked engineering sample)

What they changed was increase the efficiency of memory in RV790 by little.

Burst Memory Reads

”Burst memory reads are not supported by the RV770; however, the 710, 730, 740, and 790 do support it. Chips after R770 support burst reads in memory-read instructions. This allows up to 16 consecutive locations to be read into up to 16 consecutive GPRs (General-purpose Registers).”

afaik the 4970 uses the same mounting pattern as the 4870. So anything should work really
