Here tell me the points you brought up with your parents and their rebuttal and the points they brought up and I'll think up an effective argument for you.skipper2666 wrote:

Everything I can think of, from how it blocks every 2nd webpage so you can't find information for school and shit, from how it blocks normal sites, but they just say well our family will waste a lot less time on the internet but thats just shite because I'm usually on the internet for maybe 30 minutes a day. I said it slows down the internet majorly but they just ignore it and say thats what there gonna do no matter what.
Tell your parents how if you spend less time on the internet you are more likely to do drugs or have unprotected sex with immigrants.skipper2666 wrote:

Another point?
These are your best 3 possible courses of action, the way I see it. If you don't at least try each of these, you don't deserve your internet back.
Option #1: Convince parents to remove filter. Make a deal if you must.
Option #2: Get a Wifi card. Build WiFi antenna. Free Internet from up to several miles away.
Option #3: Read a lot about computers. Learn to program. Get really good. H4cK filter.
Good luck!

I think we may just have found a way around this filter. If you can get to sites by entering the IP directly, the filter may actually just redirect to their DNS server instead of doing any filtering.skipper2666 wrote:
Yup so im pretty much fucked.. but I went to network tools and used the ip instead of the website and now this site works, and a few sports sites I can get to work but everything else is blocked.
try pinging (open a command line, type ping[space]ipadress) any of these DNS servers
* 4.2.2.1
* 4.2.2.2
* 4.2.2.3
* 4.2.2.4
* 4.2.2.5
* 4.2.2.6
* 208.67.222.222
* 208.67.220.220
* 156.154.70.1
* 156.154.71.1
* 67.138.54.100
* 207.225.209.66
if you can connect to any of them, go to your control pannel --> network connections --> right click your lan connection --> status --> properties --> select "internet protocol (depending on your windows version select version 4 not 6) --> properties --> use the following DNS server and type in the the DNS server that works. Hit OK. You might need to reboot before this works, not sure.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Is Google blocked?
if your in the 11th century how are using a computer there was no electricity

Something else you can try is downloading a firmware update from a router (any company router), or even for the filter, then connecting to said filter's control panel (I assume your parents think they can do nothing and the box will maintain itself), "update" the firmware of the box, cutting power to it halfway through. Or if it's the wrong firmware, you don't need to do that. This will render said box completely unresponsive.
*Provided the box doesn't have some insanely paranoid hardware restore to prevent exactly that.

What sort of setup is it?
Do you have the basic filter box at home or do you use them as your ISP and get everything filtered before it reaches you? Do you have SAFE filter or FLEXIBLE filter?
If you only have the home filter box, what's to stop you buying a cheap switch and swapping out the circuit boards inside the filter box? It looks very much the same shape as a normal Linksys router.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Hmmm.....
Tunnelling should still work. Someone write him a guide on how to make an SSH tunnel and get all his webtraffic over that....
That won't help:Mutantsteak wrote:

That will just make it more blockedSites that are not permitted
* Sites that have images or portrayals of God
They could just be letting people buy filter boxes, as previously mentioned.Bertster7 wrote:
