A few people have mentioned that in this thread, sorry but it sounds like a Redneck tea.

homebrew beer/moonshine/cheap alcohol = redneck

southern iced tea = more refined south

You know the stereotype for the south is either extremely unrefined or extremely cultured...

You've either got the rednecks, or southern high society. White suits, fancy houses, southern tea, and a black maid >_>

Earl Grey, English Breakfast, French Vanilla.

In that order I think, I haven't had any in a while. Actually, it sounds really good about now.

If he were I'd expect him to be drinking from a fine china tea cup, not a mug

I may have been reading too much of The Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson recently...

Oh and, sadly, I own neither a top hat, nor a monocle, otherwise I would...

I take my tea NATO Standard. Milk, 2 sugars.

English Breakfast tea wins.
Earl Grey is nice too on the right occasion, but you got to drink that shit with honey and lemon.

As for all you guys who put the boiling water in BEFORE the milk, you are aware that you are in fact scalding the tea? If you must insist on making tea in the mug and not in a pot, put the milk in first. You WILL taste the difference.

1. Boil water
2. While 1. is occurring, put bag/leaves in ball into mug.
3. Add sugar to taste
4. Add milk to taste
5. Add hot (but not boiling) water to mug. You want to leave your kettle for at least a minute or two after it has boiled before putting that water anywhere near your mug.
6. Allow tea to steep for preferred time.
7. Stir, remove teabag, stir again.
8. ??
9. Profiterole.

I'm having a fucking amazing cup right now. It's really hot, really strong, and I've got a coupla Rocky's to dunk in it.

I love tea.
