Depends what TV you have.
For me, the difference is noticeable.

My fav two things on telly are Sport and Nature. They both look amazing on a big ol telly.
Id love to watch some filthy grot on HD plasma or something.
Personally myself I havent gone in for HD in any way.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
HD looks fucking awesome. Even football in HD is amazing, you can make out every blade of grass.
I don't have sky HD myself but I've heard there's only a limited amount programmes which are shown in HD as of yet. So that would be the only problem I guess.

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
The main point is that there's only a few HD channels.Switch wrote:

i got a new tv around new years, an LG Plasma HD 50 inch. There are over 50 channels in HD now.
Aye, and it's inevitable that those channels will repeat a lot, as Sky tend to do with movies and documentaries.liquidat0r wrote:

2) Are you using a HDMI cable
3) Is everything set up properly to get the HD Feeds
4) Are you using HD Channels
5) Have you subscribed to said HD Channels so they actually work
HD Football is just awesome

big difference on the HD channels... the others still look the same obviously
aha! its working good now! havent had a chance to watch any footy on it yet.
Totally worth it, if nothing else just purely to get your sky connected via HDMI. Standard sky, via scart, on a HD tv is made of fail, and looks horrific.
It's so good, I was thinking of getting a second box for the other room personally.

I have Free Sat HD. You only get BBC HD which is great for Heroes and Nature documentaries. You get some ITV HD and there are more coming.
The picture quality is about 4 times better. The sound is 10 times better tho.

I was thinking about getting that. What is the price of the box, and what equipment do you need?JahManRed wrote:

yeah the sound on it is freaking
Getting HD through UPC Telekabel here in Vienna in a few weeks. Just have to get the furniture into the new place first and then the TV man comes to hook up the new Internet and HD box. Woo hoo!!!! Really cheesed off about having to wait like 3 weeks before I can even USE my brand new HD TV, though ...
If you don't have an HD TV, or are not using an HDMI the difference will be very small.
But anytime they play a show not recorded for HD its normal quality anyways.
What really sucks, at least with the cable I have, is that often there will be quite a few "HD channels" (HD versions of your normal channels)liquidat0r wrote:
