You can put it in the USB. Keep one copy under very simple drive path too just in case.

thanks, ok i went into the dos this and typed this backup command in to see if it works

atiflash -s backup.rom

where there is a space, i put a space but the command was not recognised. the dos line started as C\ but my bootbale drive is a H drive.

so it was typed in as

c:\atiflash -s backup.rom

any help?

use the command "cd" to change to the H:\ drive

e.g. "cd H;\" i think.

actually just type     H:

and it should go to the bootable drive. You can type DIR to see list of the files in there.

you can't CD to your main HDD. It can't read NTFS partitions. Put the bios file in the root directory of your USB stick. Flash with "atiflash -p -f 0 bios.rom".

When you boot from the stick C: is the stick and H: probs doesn't even exist.

try just running ATIFLASH.EXE and see what happens. (Just type ATIFLASH.EXE in caps)
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Depends on the version of DOS etc. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't, just running the program without tags can be a good way to ensure that your file actually works.

Try giving it a shorter name, like ATI.EXE and BAK.ROM for the backup.

another thing, does it matter if the bios is a .bin or .rom file?

Depends on the flasher. Checked the readme?

ok, i managed to flash the card successfully

the suggested code was

atiflash -p -f 0 newbios.rom

is swapped the -f with 0 so i put in this

atiflash -p 0 -f newbios.rom

and it worked

here is a new screeny with 3dmark vantage scores

https://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm101/Rammunition1/gpu-1.jpg

still a little dissapointed with the GPU score, was hoping for at least 6900

also according to the below link, crysis @ 1680×1050 with AA set to 4x and everything very high should be about 24FPS, i just tested my computer and i only get 22FPS with everything on Very high @ 1280x1024.

That is withing 5% marginal that can be caused by many many things like different drivers. Your card works just fine now.
