Will how big of a change will I see if I up my RAM from two 2 x 2GB to four 2 x 2GB? Will there be a huge significance in speed or minor? Would you recommend it?

What about adding another video card, I have ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB right now, would big of an increase in fps will I get if I crossfire another one?

Also, I'm looking for a new CD-ROM, I want a Blu-ray player, but I don't know what kind to get and I don't know if I should get one that can burn blu-ray.

Thank you in advance

edit: If you really need my system specs

8GB is not worth it unless you arre doing some serious software engineering work.

CF brings 0-90% increase in fps depending game.

My brother is taking some computer courses at his university and he said that he was going to teach me how to do basic animation and with the new video camera I got I am definitely going to make some movies. The 8GB will benefit me here?

If it's some kind of HD camera, perhaps. If it's a normal handheld camera doing 720p or SD, not really.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

In order to give advice about your system it would be nice to know what you have currently. Include info about hardware, OS etc. Just edit your OP.

>4GB is only really neccessary if you're doing memory-hog type things, like opening/using files that are 10gB+ (raw 1080p files in .avi for example), some programs like CAD, or of you have OCD and want to fill your other slots.

Another 4870 would bring a massive increase in performance, but if it's better than selling one 4870 and buying a 4870x2 I dunno, ask other techies about that.

I think I made up my mind, I'm not going to up my RAM, but I will get another card at a later date. Probably over the summer.

Does anyone know anything about blu ray drives? I'm thinking this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6827136133
