Skiing is hilarious right up until you and your mates think a black diamond course is a great way to cut your teeth after taking two basic skiing lessons.
One massive crash later...... OH SNAAAAAP.

Which bit? Val Claret or Le Lac? I prefer Val Calret...
D'you do the Sache? That's probably the one I found the most hard work...
Yeah I was really impressed with Tignes actually. I've skied most areas in the Alps at some point or other, but Tignes was very good.
I was staying in Le Lac, but it didn't make a whole lot of difference really as I was 100m away from a lift that'd get me over to VC.
Did indeed ski Sache, no way could you see that on the map and not do it. Agreed about it being hard work though, first half is nice easy cruising, and then the rest is fucking tiring work. Especially on 188cm powder skis.
My only real complaint about Tignes would be that they seem to over-grade their pistes a lot. I skied pretty much every run in the Espace Killy area, but I only skied about 3 or 4 runs I would consider being worthy of being a black, Sashe being one of them. Loads of brilliant off piste though, just a shame we didn't get any fresh snow that week, but it's so late in the year it's hardly surprising.

I agree about the over-grading, but I've been there a fair few times (knew someone with an apartment there, so used to rent it off them on the cheap) and in some conditions some of the blacks that seem easier become a lot harder - which could have something to do with it.ghettoperson wrote:

I've usually been a bit disappointed by most of the stuff over towards Val d'Isere - Tignes always seemed to have the better runs.
You shoulda gone up to Val Claret - the Blue Girl is hilarious (and full of plenty of sluts ). Did you see any of the posters dotted around?

The Blue Girl is that gay bar isn't it? I never actually made it there, but some of my friends did. That's not to say we didn't seem to meet loads of gay guys at other places. Pro tip: if you want to pick up loads of dudes wear a pink string vest... Who'd have thought they made you look gay?

Wasn't a gay bar when I was there - more's the pity.
It was more topless go-go dancers and suchlike....
The names of the nights just sounded so funny I had to check it out. Hot Orgasm night was a good laugh - I was certainly wearing my pink string vest
Even that didn't help me pick up any super hawt guys, so I had do make do with some drunken French girl

The Zag Golds have only been used one day this year
Planning an Alpes trip next year with some friends, mainly looking for some awesome off-piste. Any tips?
