Is it just me or are people fucking retarded?

This girl asked me today what I use to download music, and I told her Limewire for single songs and Torrents for other albums/collections...

And she told me, "Limewire gave me viruses" which is the response I usually get from people when Limewire comes up...

Don't people understand that 3 minute songs aren't 29.4kb?

It pisses me off when people blame perfectly good programs for their idiocy and then criticize me for using it.

They think I'm lying when I tell them that I've used Limewire weekly for the last 4 or so years and have never ever had a virus because of it...

Dude, Limewire is shit. It's an old relic from the young years of piracy. Even shitty public torrent trackers and free RS is better.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Leave limewire whilst you can. It's horrendous and shit. It's also highly illegal, whereas the other methods are in the legal grey areas, limewire is just ILLEGAL.

OBTW, Limewire is monitored in quite a few countries.

Problem is, when you have 5000+ songs in your library, paying 99 cents for every song adds up REAL quick. And Limewire is definitely more dangerous than torrenting. I know that here in the US all of the big piracy busts involve high school/college students pirating through Limewire.
