I'm having some troubles with some math.

In a class, there are 28 students.
They have done some research about, how much they earned a month.
The income is between €0 and €2500.

It looks like this:

[0; 500] (8 students)
]500; 1000] (6 students)
]1000; 1500] (1 student)
]1500; 2000] (4 students)
]2000; 2500] (9 students)

The numbers in the intervals indicates € the students have earned, and in parentheses, how many students that have earned it.

I need to find the average income for the students.

Help.

Weighted average. I would use the middle of every interval.

[(250*8) + (750*6) + (1250*1) + ...]/28

Thanks, I think I have the right result now.
