Dear wonderful techgeeky people,
I (will) have about £150 to spend on upgrading my computer... Looking for recommendations please
Karmaz for halp.

Current Specs:
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-8I915PM
CPU: Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz (prescott, whatever this means)
GPU: NVidia 7600GS 512MB
RAM: 3GB 533Mhz DDR2
OS: XP Media Center Edition
HDD: 160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200

Ta muchly for suggestions

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

No point in upgrading that any further. Save up another 150 and do a complete re-build.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
