Let me educate.

The Majority of you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, so here's a quick set of info.

These two guys, Riku (motor mouth) and Tunna (hippie looking cameraguy) are travelling all around the wolrd doing/drinking/smoking/experiencing all sorts of crazy shit. This is their 3rd season airing and they've been in all sorts of places that a normal sane human being tourist wouldn't visit. For example in the S03E02 the guys are visiting the town of Pripjat exploring the ghost town. Also in every episode they have this Madcook thing where one of them will have to eat the nastiest stuff they find in the local places. Who eats the stuff is decided with rock/paper/scissors. Well anyhoo, here's a few clips from Youtube. The first two seasons don't have spoken english (3rd has) but the second season on dvd has english subs. You can find the 3rd season episodes for example in isohunt (mods please delete, or tune it to fit the forum if this sentence if this is a no-no ad). I sincerely recommend this TV show to everyone!

The Chernobyl part was kinda freaky. Brought some good ol' STALKER memories back tho. And when they interviewed the dealer hefe in Brasil. Tunna was a "tad" careful with the camera

Madventures is one of my favourite shows all-time. The kinda dissappointing thing is that I thought season 1 was way better than 2 or 3 so far. Still I like to watch it though. But hey I recommend this show for anyone who even remotely likes other countries than their own. : D It's a good show and now they even made it a bit educational for english-speaking countries (:

One of the most entertaining travel shows I've watched. Being now made in English, I'm happy to see that the main narrator (Rantala) is quite verbal also in a foreign language. The spontanity is still there.

This is from an earlier season (in Finnish though):

For everyone who has access to Travel Channel or Fiver (UK), I recommend this dearly.

Here's some wiki:

Wikipedia wrote:

Madventures is a Finnish travel show that premiered on the Subtv channel on 13 October 2002. The show concentrates on so called backpacking instead of tourist attractions. It is presented by Riku Rantala (born 20 July 1974). Rantala and Tuomas "Tunna" Milonoff (born 26 February 1974), the show's director and cameraman, travel around the world exploring different cultures. The two emphasize that they are on a journey, not on a holiday.

The travel documentary is made on a relatively low budget with no major production crew but rather just the two presenters traveling together with the shooting equipment.

The first two seasons were made in Finnish, but for the third season the show was sold to Travel Channel and Fiver and the language was switched to English. The third season began airing in Finland in early April 2009 with each episode being 10 minutes longer than the international version.

The show is renowned for its "MadCook" section, in which the travelers attempt to eat some of the least favored dishes around the world — for example, monkey brains in the Amazon Rainforest and dog meat in Bali. In 2002 the show received an Anti Animalia award[1] for this section from Animalia, Finland's largest[2] animal protection organization.

Now that was a nasty ass episode last night.

-3-4yo kid biting a puppy to death. CHECK
-Headless chicken running around. CHECK
-Cool voodoo market. CHECK
-A dog and several chickens being slaughtered and bled to death for sacrifice. CHECK
-2yo kids faces being carved to "look more handsome". CHECK
-Tunna eating a cat. CHECK
-Teddybears cuddly tea party. NOPE

But the guys were absolutely right. Who are we to judge that? We keep polluting this planet far more worse than they who are just living by their who-konws-how-old traditions.

Mhmn, wasn't as good as Ex-CCCP. This episode was very repetitive. R & T lecture of how we (Western fat ass polluting gluttons pointing at eachother) should not judge others - and their habits, was very clear after first time they said it. No need to point obvious too many times. Other than that, it was still good episode.

On Madventures sites one can see (in Finnish) loads of whining 'one-post-wonders' saying how it's not that ol' school chillin', traveling, chillin', mad cooking and chillin' travel-show anymore, and how they have sold their "soul/low budget travels" to big channels in hope of money. Well, that's loads of baloney. It would be rip off if they DID still one more season of the same as in two first seasons. Besides, in first season R & T travelled 250+ days all around the world with 20 bucks a day (average), made freaking popluar show here in Finland and got -5000 in their hands. So I think it's somewhat allowed for them to try and aim for bigger audience and profits - and maybe, just maybe, some day they will be able to make 4th season.

I hope Coco visits again...

"We're on a Khat farm! Wohoo!"

A tame episode again. Let's see what they find in Japan except for drifting Toyotas.

Mhya... Well, they ate a lot khat there... Episodes are too short - I wonder if the epsiodes are only 30 mins in the U.S.(as some people rumour. I myself don't know for sure). Because when 40 min episode feels too short 30 min episodes must (almost) suck. One hour episodes as in first season, that's how it should be.

I think that not so many have slept in million star hotel. *cough*
Eventhough Tunna was slightly pissed about this.

But I think next episodes will be awesome. Usually episodes placed in Asia have been very good.
