So, I try to patch my game and it says that it cannot find the install folder for Battlefield 2.  I thought that was wierd and tried it again, and got the same results.  Next I tried to uninstall BF2,  the uninstall shield goes through it's little bar as it is preparing to uninstall, once that is done my screen flashes like it was about to do something, then nothing happens.  The same thing happens if I try to just reinstall BF2 off of the discs.  I'm kinda pissed because I would like to play the game.  Help would be appreciated.

Try a virus scan, or maybe try the uninstaller from the actuall program file location

I am getting this same exact problem. What worked? I tried patching incriment then full, get the Folder not Found.
Tried to uninstall it, it flashes and quits. I took off virus scans, firewalls, everything but the essentials, no joy. HELP!

It's a pain for sure. Have you moved or renamed the folders/files that the game was initially installed in? Did you modify any of the files in the folders? If the file path gets corrupted then some uninstalls will not go well.

You could try reinstalling into the same folder you have BF2 in now. This should overwrite the files. Then just to be sure you get a clean install, uninstall what you just installed. Doing that will hopefully keep the Windows registry clean. Then manually go to the folder and delete anything else that is remaining. Then finally reinstall one more time and then patch.

That's all I can think of. Should take you a couple of hours for to do all that.
