I need to replace the fried PSU that came out of a dell 2350 at work.

I looked on newegg and the cheapest one I could find was almost $50 USD

anyone know of a decent inexpensive PSU?

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

You want to make sure you get a good brand, a shitty PSU might take more than itself down if when it dies.

I have one, it's great. Runs cool / quiet, and hasn't failed me yet, during the 6 months I've owned it.

Do NOT get an Apevia. Mine melted (literally) after just a couple months of owning it.

Ive got the lesser model of that one, and after 2 years, still running like a champ.  Not everything Rosewill makes is good( ive seen dozens of their mice crap out at work) but the PSU end works fine, although some will be quick to recommend you a $120 PSU just for a name.

Antec Earthpower are also great, picked up a 500w for $25 at my local Micro Center for my sisters rig.

Rosewill are quite feared and known for their high-explosive PSUs. Perhaps not that exact model, seeing how it's gotten good reviews.

No matter what, it's a smarter move to go with a cheaper Basiq 350 or Basiq 300 if you can find one. For a computer that low-end, you really don't need a powerful PSU. Just a good PSU.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

This should work, the words cheap and decent do not go together when talking about PSU's.

Corsair PSUs are some of the best ones out there, highly recommended.

I second the Basiq. Quite decent for the price, I have the 500

Topower makes some decent low-end PSUs for relatively cheap prices (I got mine for 70 dollars AUD).  I installed it in September/October last year, and in the past six months I haven't had any problems with mine.
