Looking for a laptop for mostly work purposes, light graphics work (ie photoshopping mostly, a little 3d medical simulation).

Budget is AUD 4000-4300, and DDR3 ram preferred (not sure why, not actually my comp), solid state drive if possible, but drive of around 80 GB minimum preferred.  Ideas?

EDIT: Oh, and 15 inch or a relatively light weight would be best.  Thanks

EDIT 2: Scratch the simulation, the planning computers at the hospital will do that.

well 3d simulations doesn't sound very light to me. it will need a fast CPU, large amount of ram and very decent GFX card.

Hmm...about that, is it possible to run mac on windows only?  He can't use mac because the mac version of quicken (which is non-interchangable with other programs ) sucks apparently.  Also he has 2 more licences for office professional 2007 which he would like to use up.

He wants DDR3, an SSD and support for Windows, not a shiny toy.

The new Macbook Pros have DDR3 RAM and the option of SSD hard drives..

With fast 1066MHz DDR3 memory, you can run more applications at once and instantly access even more of your stuff. Burn DVDs using the ultrafast 8x SuperDrive. MacBook Pro also offers an optional solid-state drive, which has no moving parts for enhanced durability.

Do you mean using windows only stuff on a Mac?

He could install a Windows OS on the Macbook (using "Bootcamp"), and thus be able to run that version. Dunno how stable all that would be tho.
