I wanna overclock my processor now or in the near future to around 3.6 Ghz. But what do I have to change in the bios?
specs:
Case: Cooler Master CM 690
Mobo: MSI P45 Neo-F
PSU: OCZ StealthXStream 600Watt
GPU: PowerColor Radeon HD4870,512MB, GDDR5, PCI Express x16
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo,E8400, Socket 775, OEM @ 3,00 Ghz
CPU cooler: Scythe Mugen “Infinity”
RAM: G.Skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ,4096MB, 1000MHz, DDR2, PC8000
OS: Vista Ultimate 64Bit
Bios set the voltage of the memory on 2.1V (the box promises 1.8V with same performance).
As far as I can tell everything that could cause a problem is turned off. Is now just a matter of changing the FSB from 333 to 400? and the Vcore from AUTO/STANDARD to ...V?
If it would be that easy I would like to know what voltage to set the CPU vCore (and are there other voltage to worry about?) As you can see there are 4 types of voltages mentioned in the BIOS. CPU I guess would be the vCore voltage, but the other ones I would have to look up in my manual.
And how do I set the Mugen's fan speed? Because setting the min.temp to 40 (min possible) and the min. fan speed to 87,5 (max poassible) doesn't change anything (judging from the sound made and the temp measured in realtemp).
Thanks in advance,
