Whats the name of that montion detecting thing, where you put some head band thingy on and a camera on your monitor picks up your head motion and applies it to the game your playing? Also can anyone think of any other tech similar that is being used by games, like those vests that vibrate when your shot.
Huh?

There are others solutions too, a lot cheaper but TrackIR is the best.Vilham wrote:

I saw a Japanese guy make a 3D game out of a wii headset. Really, really cool. I'll see if I can find the video.
EDIT: Not the one I watched, but along the same lines.

But if you turn your head, you can't see the screen anymore.
The turning speed in game is faster than your head. Turning to look at the edge of the screen is programmed for you to look out the side window in the cockpit of a Cessna. (Flight Simulator)
cool vid.
After watching that video, that seems fucking retarded.
It'd be kinda cool if you had like 3 monitors in a semi circle around you, but otherwise pretty useless seeings you have to look away from the screen for it to work and then it kind of defeats the purpose.
Plus you have to keep your head dead fucking still otherwise your view moves all around.

I suppose you never played a flight sim? It gives you a huge advantage over coolie-hatting ppl in dogfights for example.CrazeD wrote:

Anyway except those times, when you are actually looking all over the place in a combat flight sim, which is well nearly all the time, you can create small deadzones in the middle so you don't have to keep your head dead fucking still.
