I had a weird experience this afternoon whilst trying to download some stuff.

Everything I tried to download using either Firefox or IE failed. It appeared in the downloads window and appeared to complete but the files were nowhere to be found. I have checked the download locations, tried other locations, deleted the downloads.rdf file, reinstalled Firefox and still nothing downloads.

To begin with I was trying to download a few jpegs, but then moved on to trying to download all sorts of different things from different sites - nothing worked.

However, in Chrome, everything downloads perfectly normally.

Unresolved addresses appear as the download source in the download windows - which I thought seemed odd and usually points to some sort of DNS issue, but if Chrome works ok and browsing works ok, then it should really work.

I'm sure it's something simple, but I only had 5-10 mins to play around with it and didn't find a satisfactory solution. Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

But Chrome is the only one working...

If they get rid of that then they'll have no (good) way of downloading anything.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Well, I'm not gonna get an opportunity to try anything for a while, but I will give that a whirl.

BTW - apparently issue started after a system restore, thought I should add that.

Any other suggestions? I'm open to ideas...

I blame voodoo.
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
