BF2S Forums Choppers

Meh, only thing that bothers me is that they take away time for me to be in the chopper.

I've done it a few times when no one else was around, you fly around, launch a few tv missles, then land and pick someone up.

After all its better to die with a buddy then by yourself!

To sum extend I will have to agree and disegree on you on this one

1. It takes loads of skills to switch seats and Hit anything Not alone a chopper. I maniged to pull this off only 1 time my self, and say must of been a fluke when I shot that jet out of sky ( I cant usualy even doit with Chopper pilot not alone me switching seats) I personaly will not getin with Noobs, or will have noobs flying with me as Gunner ( no disrespect to any one lerning to fly on Ranked server is not a place for it )

2. it's not about a pilot it's all about a gunner, if you have 1 badass Gunner you will not get shot down. I have a guy in clan that can shoot down anything with TV

As for you coment about people switching seats it takes loads and loafds of skills to do that as Most of the players Know chopper spins out

1. switch seats, 2. max 2 sec to fire, 3. Guide that Misile to your target , 4 switch back seats so you don't get shot down by anything. ( skill requerd Loads )

For the most part I always fly with gunner. The lack of canon makes you less effective against infantry.
However I often have my gunner hop out for a fast flag cap, and often times I will spot armor or tango choppers while circling the flag. In this situation I rise up and solo them.

The only reason this would be a legitimate complaint is if the guy refuses to pick up a gunner, and will fly only by himself. Because I dont care how good you think you are: pilot + gunner = > pilot alone. Period. (assuming the gunner knows wtf he is doing. ))

I actually agree with this, it would be better if you could not fire missiles from the gunners seat while there is no pilot. I haven't seen this tactic much recently, but its damn annoying when it does happen. Doom_avalanche does this pretty much all the time (based on my experience with him). The one time I got close enough to fight with the rockets he crashed into the ground

A simple adjustment so the gunner cannot fire while there is  no pilot would put a stop to this tactic without screwing gunners over in emergencies.

Uhh no you wouldn't, i fly without a gunner quite a bit (when nobody gets in) and i certainly don't need one to take care of enemy choppers.

Finally ppl that understand.

Macro, basically binding 3 key press's in 1.

In this case it would be:

1. Switch to gunner seat
2. Activate TV missile mode
3. Fire

If you have a target aligned in your gunner view bar you can practically use it as a sight and not even have to guide your missile.

I love flying choppers, it's the only real vehicle in BF2 that requires some skill to use and this shit ruins it.

1. The TV camera on the SF choppers is pointed very low, it's pretty sucky.

2. The choppers in SF have rockets with splash damage as well as having 14 rockets in each pod; good piloting will put the fear of god into your enemy if you use it right.

Only real reason i still play normal bf2 is cause the Apache is pretty stiff, can't do the same tricks you can in the normal bf2 choppers/Hind. Its nice to have fun with the AH-1Z and plus the SF maps get boring if u play them continuously...i need the sun of Oman

My two cents: You try switching to gunner and TVing something in midair.  It's damned hard.  In my opinion, people who do this have practiced at it and have earned the right to.
