Anyways, prob gonna do the vanilla board, how do you tell if you get a D0 chip? Something on the chip or w/ CPU-Z??
I plan on purchasing in two weeks (waiting on my check from my school), max you hit those speeds on air?! That's impressive!
for the 920: D0 Chips have the sSpec# SLBEJ. C0 chips have SLBCH. Not sure about the C1. CPU-z can also tell you.
Yeah, on air. Cooler is a Alpenföhn Brocken with 2 Noiseblocker XLP fans in push-pull. Thermal performance is about the same as a TRUE or a Noctua heatsink. 214bclk x 21 multi. 1.42Vcore. 2.0V PLL. 1.35 QPI/uncore voltage. ~85°C load. Didn't do too much testing though. Settled for a final OC of 4GHz @ 1.288Vcore. These new chips really clock great. Some retailers you can ask to pick out a D0 chips for you, others (like newegg) just send a random one
Also, any benefit to replacing my XFI w/ a PCIE model?
not really

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
