My router recently decided to stop working so I'm in need of a new one. I have enough money for either a good router or to switch to cable. I have no knowledge about internet stuff. I would like to know what would be better for gaming on bf2. Thanks
buy a new router
get a linksys router they are good, also depends wut type of internet u are using mine is modem/router since I have huge cable (pct-crs-6) coming in from outside going directly into the router and then the rj45 cable from the router to the computer.
Just wanted to know which would be better for bf2, I'm on verizon internet. By the way everyone is replying I think I might just get a new router.
take a pic of wut u are currently using? so we know we dont want u to get a wrong thing then be like fuck... make sure u u include a pic of all the portsBeer*Abuser wrote:

I have a wireless dsl modem GT704WG, I don't have a camera right now that I can use, but I will try to find a picture on google or something, Sorry if that didn't help. Trying to help you guys help me the best I can! and thanks.
ah k same as me then you have a modem router, u have couple of options you can get: you can go and get a good router/modem Linsys brand or I have a netgear one which is ok I guess 2. But yeah make sure its a modem/router not just a router.
get dial up. I think they have up to 56k now
Yeah, I've had that modem for a long time now but its about to take a shit on me. I get connection problems in bf2 like crazy and just started happening a few days ago. I'm thinking about going ahead and getting cable, I have one final question. If I get cable and have to share the bandwidth with two other computers, will I get connection problems with bf2?
no
