ArchView - Firefox Addon To Preview RAR, ZIP And ISO Files With Selective Downloading Feature
What Is ArchView

ArchView is an extension of Firefox. It can open archive file online and get the catalog. It also can preview or download files in archive. Currently, it support ZIP, RAR archives and ISO-9660 CD images. The most fancy feature of ArchView is that it can open an individal file without download the whole archive, since it only fetch the necessary portion. So it's suitable for checking the content of archive before download. ArchView can support HTTP and FTP protocols. It can also handle local files via file: protocol.

Sounds cool but, I can't think of a reason to use it. I don't usually find myself downloading mystery archives.

for some reason i thought that the program views the archives while they're still on the server, hence, a "preview."  if i was wrong then this addon is useless.  if not, good find and i'll give it a shot.

Well, it does... but I don't usually download from untrusted sources where I would need such a tool. I already know what's in the file before I download it.
