Get into the easiest subject you can at the hardest university you can and hopefully score high marks. Then get out with your degree and apply to an easier school for an MBA. Hopefully easier school thinks highly of your good marks at a good school in an easy subject and lets you in. to the program. Make six figures with your new MBA (because most businessmen only have a bachelor of commerce). For the plan to work you'll need at least one course in calculus and economics...
Doesn't really work like that in the UK... we don't entirely base academic qualifications on the Master's Schools.
If he's looking for a career in IT, it certainly doesn't work like that in the UK. At all.
There are a few good ways to get on in IT.
1. Get good grades, go to a good university, get a 1st or better, get a placement on a top end graduate scheme with a big company.
2. Get a basic, uber low paying IT job, then another, then another - build different skills throughout, helpdesk, hardware repairs etc. you want to diversify your skillset. Build up your experience using various technologies, preferably ones that are widespread. Learn Active Directory and Exchange inside and out. Get a few certifications.
