A+ isn't worth having. It is a pointless and stupid certification and a good chunk of the questions are about stupid stuff like tidying up....
MSCE/MCSA are very worth having.
They're on the Prometric system I think, so probably $200 per exam - of course the chances of you actually paying that are very slim, since I think that's what the test centre will pay.
Do you know the stuff and just want to take the exams or do you need to do a course to learn it?blademaster wrote:

The A+ may not be worth much but it's better than nothing. Also it can be used as an elective towards your MCSA. I also know there are some employers who require it, My buddy got a new IT job and was required to get his A+ even though he had a degree and experience already.Bertster7 wrote:

No one has ever asked me if I've got one, or asked me to do one. But then I do have a fair few other certifications and a degree and experience.jaymz9350 wrote:

I know a lot (probably most) wouldn't ask about or require it, just pointing out there are places that do. I believe his company required it because the had contracts with the State of Ohio who required it for anyone working on one of their contracts. The big thing is it can't hurt you to get it (though it may not help) and it is an easy one to get. A lot of people I've heard knock it (mostly people with IT experience) seem to forget not everyone has the experience to get an IT job and even a cert like the A+ can help get your foot in the door.Bertster7 wrote:

I've never even seen it on any job spec requirements.
Sounds like a pretty ridiculous employer.jaymz9350 wrote:
