I think that there needs to be more forced heirarchy in the squads. These are the ideas I had to make it possible
First. You should always be able to spawn of the commander. This is the No cap base.
Second, each capture point has a territory that within it are variable spawn points for a commander to place a squad leader with his squad. It other word, eliminating the possibility of spawn camping.
Third squad leader selects the kits of his/her members. Or something that make the squad a little more consistent and makes the squad leader a little more than just the guy you spawn off of behind lines and they guys who keeps telling you where to go.
Then the commander can actually set a group of guys in position to start heading to, say, take out a tank and provide back up for taking over a point.
I just find that the point that makes BF2 so much more advanced than most games is its degree of realism while maintaining the degree of stategy and skill.
Finally I think that the sound quality needs to be increased. You need to always be able to hear footsteps when the enemy is normal walking.
I think the knife needs to have a little wider range. I hate having to go prone to make sure I can reach a guy.
and head shots need to kill with most weapons. IT seems I can hit a guy two times at least in the head without actually killing them. And while on heads, I think that the helmet should provide real defense. As in a front head shot is different from a side or back head shot.
Armor should not be an extention of health and it should be a plain replacement of armor instead of 'healing' you armor.
Ok I am done.
