I have a DVD/VCR deck combo with RCA (composite/yellow video lead) output. I am trying to get it to work with an LCD monitor (ASUS VK266H, also with VGA, DVI, HDMI) that has RGB (component) video in. The current tools at my disposal are two RCA bundles and a 4-input component switch (with RCA and S-Video in/out). I know I'm probably swinging at thin air with these obscure wiring configurations, but current setup is as follows:
[Wii/PS2] ---component+audio---> [switch] ---component+audio---> [VK266H] + audio out
[laptop] ---HDMI---> [VK266H] + audio out
[desktop] ---DVI---> [VK266H]
About thirty minutes through google revealed a bunch of similar confused answers and links to expensive one-trick devices. Think I should just scrap the project and try an AV receiver?
Edit: To clarify, the monitor does have a composite (yellow) input, but it doesn't seem to receive a signal.
