I'm loving my Logitech UltraX Flat Premium. Bought it at 20€.

From those the razer looks nice.

Even my mac keyboard can do that.

Ha, this Razer Battlelight is pretty cool, for the Tarantula board, to bad it wouldn't fit when I slide in my keyboard drawer.

Bad things about the Reclusa.

I had this issue a few months back. I went with the Microsoft Sidewinder X6.

Was a damn good decision.
The X6 is pretty bad ass. I love the look of it, and the size! I was really considering one. But alas, the orange/red backlight threw me off. I got a lot of blue around. On my monitor, my case front, inside, and rear. I wish Microsoft would make one with changeable colors.

If thats what you want, then look into the Microsoft X6, it has a detachable number pad.

For some reason, Newegg is selling two versions of the X6, one is cheaper then the other, i guess a different revision?

I still love that board! Damn backlights

Linky, is the red really all that bad?

G15 V1, or if you want to spend a stupid more amount of money, the Lycosa looks nice.

EDIT: Nevermind the last comment, Razer seems to have lowered prices to something resembling sane.

Does anybody know the measurements on the G11? Its a toss up between that, and the Eclipse III. I'm wondering which one is longer?

Also, what does it take to modify the backlight colors of a keyboard? Specifically the Sidewinder X6? Anybody know about modding them?

I wonder how many people that go about toting that thread and whatever it's results may be actually press 6 keys at the same time in any game. The most I can think of using is 5 and that's a circle strafe crouch jump move AND talking on vent. Don't really need a key for that, but PTT is win.

I have a Saitek Eclipse, which didn't score that well on the whole button mashing thing in that thread. However, I never have any problems gaming.

yeah mine didn't like it either but have had zero problems in real use.  I really like my eclipse II which could be another option option as it's a little shorter (19.5") as he stated space may be somewhat of an issue.  It also has changeable color for the back light and a dimmer.

I beg to differ. Personal experience too.
You're both right. Some gaming keyboards are overpriced for trendy stylishness, while not actually offering significant performance increase over regular keyboards. I'm fine with IBM-101 style boards, but occasionally I will run into the button mashing limits when I'm trying to do things like strafe up, left, rotate, accelerate and fire all at the same time. More expensive boards that can do these things are only worth how well they exceed over standard boards.

Well I think the board looks just as awesome without back lighting. The room I'm in is well lit, so I have it turned off when I have the lights on. The orange is kinda weak looking, but it only shows up on the side macro buttons and if you have the NumPad in Macro mode.

It's a damn good board. I love the profile toggle button, and everything about it.

ONLY thing I found gay at first, was that the ESC key isn't above tild, tab, etc. So if you have the instinct of pressing F1 and F2 without looking at the board, you're gonna have to learn to shift over and aim for F2 for F1, if you get what I mean...

I'm over it now, though

The Macros also seem pretty good. Seems you can do just about anything with them, using Microsoft Intelitype.

Also, I have a Razer Deathadder (Blue) and it doesn't look too bad in the dark, tbh.

The g11 is apparently 21.5`` wide.
