And here's a couple new features.

Stream Your Library Over the Internet With Windows Media Player
https://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2009/04/windows7stream.jpg
Windows Media Player's Remote Media Sharing will let you access your media library from anywhere over the internet. You need a Windows Live ID that you associate with your Windows 7 user account using a tool you have to download. (This could grow to include other "online identities," like Facebook I'm guessing, but I wouldn't hold your breath for your Gmail account.) You also need the same version of Windows Media Player running on both computers. After everything's all associamated, then your home library you wanna stream from should show up just like a local library under the "Other Libraries" section in the side navigation pane. Can't do this in iTunes, buddy.
Windows XP Mode
https://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2009/04/xpcompatbility.jpg
To encourage enterprise people to let loose and rock Windows 7, it runs a full-fledged Windows XP virtual environment using Microsoft's Virtual PC. It requires an additional download (booo), but you won't have to worry about your applications breaking like with Vista.

Can't wait to run out to the stores and not buy this.
Honestly, I'm quite content with Vista 64, even despite the nay sayers.

You and me are among the few that have are happy with vista.  The only programs I've found that don't work in vista (not counting anything with a 16 bit installer) are ones that do an OS check to install, which is the software developers fault not vista's.

I love Vista 64 as well but I'll likely try Windows 7 out for a month or two to see if I like it.

Btw, be careful for fake RC1's if you're looking elsewhere.

I wouldn't say there are only few who like Vista.

Not particularly interested to jump to new OS right when its released.

I've had W7 beta since january. No problems, works like a dream, uses about two-thirds of the processing power even XP did. I'm sold.

I pity the fools who have Vista: you paid money for the beta version of 7.

I downloaded XP. I downloaded Vista. I'll download Windows 7.

I pity the fools that actually pay for the shovelware, and/or give a shit about other's choice in OS. Pointless.

That's right, Windows 7 RC has been given an expiration date far ahead in the mists of time: June 1st, 2010, to be exact. So don't be shy about giving it a whirl.

The extra-long lifespan is to encourage people to take their time, read reviews, and not feel rushed to grab a copy before it becomes useless or expensive. There are unlimited keys for the release candidate, so don't fret, and do try it out.

You're right.  Lets pirate every single game/software we can.  Not paying for anything will make it great for everybody!

Not.

Everytime you pirate, you give the developers less of a reason to create better software, and move to other options, prick.

Read this.

does anybody still use WMP? There are so many better audio/video software players out there. MS should stop monopolizing with their worthless apps. The first thing I do when I install XP is to remove all the crap that got "bundled" with the OS.

No, but when douche bags run around bragging about how they pirated the software and how everyone who bought the software is retarded...

Yeah winamp has been doing this for quite a while. Regardless, I thought you could already do this with Media Player? Not hardly an "OS" feature.
