Well, like I say, post suggestions, I have to go shower.

We could maybe do an AMD/ATI and an Intel/nVidia setup..

Doesn't really matter if its AMD, nVidia or Intel. More similar priced components that fit in the same budget segment. Could be everything from Intel for example.

Yeah, I get what you mean.

The main purpose of this would be to lower the amount of "Help with building rig" threads we see around... They could just take these and adapt them.

This is a budget build, who puts the ultimate best parts into something they're only going to surf on?

Yeah, I know they're shit, but they're cheap, which is what the first rig was meant to be. Cheap but shit.

Cheap but shit.
Its think it should be: a bit less cheap but decent for what its intended otherwise no one will buy stuff you put in your template. You don't just google the cheapest components and post them here. People want cheap but still reliable PC that will last.

This will last.

I was brought up on Maxtor and never had one fail on me ever, and I saw it was quite cheap, so I put it in. All the other parts are good price/performance/reliability.

Finny, if you wanna do a thread like this (which has been tried and failed at least 15 times before), at least choose GOOD components for the purpose. Anybody can go to a store and choose all the cheapest stuff.

Stop trying.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Ffs, constructive criticism rather than moaning would be helpful.

I didn't just go and find the cheapest parts, this is what I would make for someone if they asked for that type of PC.

So if you're not going to post constructively don't post at all.

I gave up on doing that with you half a year ago. I have tried.

You're that type of person that I truly can't stand; you THINK you know stuff when you don't, and on top of that, you make a lot of noise about it.

Also, threads like this has been tried many times before, by much more dedicated posters. Tech just moves too fast for anyone with half a life.

Half a year ago, whoa, I must be the exact same person now as I am then.

No. I've gained knowledge, I've matured, I've changed, so how about you treat me differently, rather than thinking you're so much better than me.

And regarding the "I think I know stuff", I know more than the average person when it comes to computers, computer parts and building them. I've learnt from many sources, the forums, my brother, building and fixing my own computers.

If you're wondering why the first computer has so many cheap parts in it, it's because it's cheap. The next computers will have a higher budget, and so better, more reliable parts.
