We saw that on Tuesday - as soon as he met a good defence, he was invisible. And that was against Bosingwa, a right back, who was playing left back. I could play like Messi against the shitty defence that infects La Liga.
The only reason Barca even came to the semi-final is because Chelsea met Liverpool in the Quarters. Otherwise, it would've been all English.

Now, for the more important matters, were pigs thrown on the pitch?
I saw no pigs thrown on the pitch, how would one get a pig through the turnstiles and into the stadium
It's true though, Barca couldn't score against Man Utd and they can't (so far) score against Chelsea

And Zimmer, Chelsea will show Barca how real men play football on Wednesday. Messi and his toothpick friend, Eto'o, will feel the power and strength of the Premier League.
PS- Dani Alves is a fucking cunt. I'm so glad we got Bosingwa instead, despite the uni-brow.
You really shouldn't say that after how they played on Tuesday.. Although I agree :xJenspm wrote:

Chelsea played a great match on Tuesday, did exactly what was planned, and played the best defensive game I've ever seen.
CRonaldo is better than Messi,he is more complete;By more complete I mean he has speed, agility, technique and shot accuracy/power(see ManUtd- Ars when he hit crossbar from 18m out,or that 30 yarder in the top right corner a while ago,and all of his free kicks) while Messi is more of a technician with the ball,he can0t shoot for shit

More complete? That's hilarious. It's amazing that whenever he is faced by a somewhat decent defender, he starts diving because he physically can't get past him. He shits himself so much that all he can do is flail around on the ground hoping the ref pities him and gives him a freekick that he MAY score. Yes, he has a shot on him, and yes, he is quite fast, but technique? The guy can't dribble for shit, has an average pass on him and is an absolute douche. He is very fast, but when he faces a defender that stands his ground (example: against Barcelona, against Chelsea etc) then he panics and does fuck all with the ball. You give him space, he will run, you give him none, he will dive. Messi plays with no space around him and still manages to get past players.
Yes, of course he is a better player, that is why Messi has 38 goals in total and Ronaldo has 23. As well as the fact that it's only you saying that Ronaldo is now better than him. Nobody can deny Messi is the best player in the world after this season, and if you think that from some "stunning" goals that Ronaldo scores, that makes him the better player, then you are an ignorant fool. The fact is, Barcelonas attacking 3 this year have slotted in more goals than any other team in Europe.
"See ManUtd - Ars when he hit crossbar from 18m out". BRILLIANT example. Absolutely fantastic. Did he score? Oh, no he didn't. I love it when people try and prove a players worth by quoting "near chances".
Since when has football been about shooting? Messi can get past any player in the world when he is feeling like it. All he needs to do then is pass it in the bottom of the net. Shooting is for twats like Ronaldo who can't actually get into the box without diving like a large pussy. Sure, freekick specialist he is, but why do Barcelona need Messi to have a power shot like Ronaldo? When they have either Alves or Xavi. Manchester United don't need Ronaldo. Ronaldo needs United.
I don't question him winning the FIFA best player last year. He had a perfect team to help him along with his goals and had a cracker of a season, but he will never ever do it again. Messi has shown that he has more quality than him now. Ronaldo wont even be in the top 3 contenders for FIFA player of the year this year, whilst Messi should win it.
Messi is ace. Shame he's so unmarketable though lol. He will never get those sponsorship or endorsement ad deals he deserves. The hasbeens like Becks will always swoop those up.
Messi can't get past any player when he feels like it?Where was he when they played Chelsea?Nowhere,he is weak and small, and you only need faster and more agile player to mark him(reference to Bosingwa) and he can't play for shit when facing stronger defenses.Where was Messi when Valencia beat Barca?Zimmer wrote:

Very stupid from you to call Ronaldo pussy for diving, like he is the ONLY player who dives,OH PLEASE...,
And I laughed most about not-being-able-to-get-into-the-box-w/o-diving shit.Of course Messi can get into the box when you leave him 1-on-1 and has space to run.Every decent player can get into the box like that if his defender doesn0t know how to position himself.
Did I say ANYTHING about Messi not being good and your argument about attacking three fails because I don't deny Messi,Eto'o and Henry aren't best attackers in the world right now. They very much proved they can outplay any defense this year.
As for this:"Shooting is for twats like Ronaldo who can't actually get into the box without diving like a large pussy"
You can't score if you can't shoot
I only stated that Ronaldo is more complete player than Messi because he is fast and agile, has ball control like Messi(Messi is a better technician, and a bit more agile and faster)but Ronaldo can shoot outside the box.Did I say Ronaldo is best ever? No!!Will he win POTY every year? No!They are both young and will improve and become even better.
If anything that's what might make Messi one of the greatest in the history. Maybe he's done the odd cover for Pro Evo 2008, but he's nothing like Beckham, or Ronaldinho or Ronaldo (both, mainly Cristiano) - and he doesn't act like a bitch on the pitch either. I don't think I've ever seen him dive or throw a fit or argue with the ref or do any of that nonsense. So far he's kept shit real, he knows he can get past most people easily and so he knows he can let his talking be done on the pitch during free play.Aries_37 wrote:

He's still human though, his performance against Chelsea wasn't all that, and I think it was down to the tremendous pressure that was put on him to deliver before the game, people need to cut down on the Messi hype train and let him do his thing
shut up, my dad can beat up your dad. period.
messi is overrated. Lots of british football fans argue that messi is amazing cause all we see of him IS his brilliance, this is due to the fact that he doesnt have enough exposure here for us to see the true player. We see ronaldo week in, week out. And theres no denying he is quite simply a fantastic player. His moments of sheer brilliance can change a game. 39.6m shot for a goal against porto? Havent seen messi pull one of them out his back pocket. Im not making a case for either player being better here, theyre obviously both exceptionally talented, gifted individuals. What we as british football fans need to see is more of messi to judge the overall state of his play.

Discussing who the best player is, is really quite stupid. It all comes down to personal preference and most of you won't change their thought.
IMO, there's no best player. Each player has it specialities and advantages which should stand out in a team. There are many skilful defenders, but they usually get ignored because they don't make the stunning shots/goals..

1) Ronaldo is a Midfielder, Messi is a forward
2) The Premier League is a better than La Liga, thus it's harder to score. FACT.
It all depends on the league... Messi fits well in La Liga, but wouldn't stand a chance in PL. Did you see how naive Real were playing? Having so much space behind your defenders without any pressure on the passer is just asking for a goal rush against you when playing vs Barca.
If Ronaldo played in La Liga, chances are Messi could be better. But if Messi played in the PL, Ronaldo would be better by far. In the PL, nobody is better than an in-form Drogba.
Also lol at Xavi and the rest of those pathetic players crying in the media because they were overpowered at Camp Nou. Man up guys, stop crying.
Drogba sucks bawls. There's no one better than an in-form Vidic.
But the fact is Drogba can only score goals. Vidic can defend and score goals.Jenspm wrote:

You can't call out Vidic for a lack of pace then say anything positive about John Terry, he is the slowest individual on any football pitch at any given time. Vidic is a far better player than JT. In fact, I would go as far as to say Terry is highly overrated.
"My best moment? I have a lot of good moments but the one I prefer is when I kicked the hooligan." - Eric Cantona.
And yes, I CAN compare. Why? Because Messi was compared to Ronaldo last year, and the year before. I don't give a shit if Ronaldo is a midfielder and Messi is a forward. I really really don't. Manchester United aren't known for their massive scorelines and tons of goals, because they are not that sort of team. It's not because in the PL it's harder to score.... If that were true, then there would be more draws when there aren't. La Liga has more draws than the PL does, yet you still claim it's harder to score? And don't give me that shit about how the worse teams are better than the worse teams in La Liga, therefore it's harder to score. That's just bollocks. The PL doesn't have a pure attacking team, La Liga does. Barcelona would do just fine in the PL and you know it. British football isn't about the attack or the skill. It's about balls over the top, muscling out other teams and defending well. Which is WHY there may not be as many goals for the better teams. The style of football is different, and both styles work, but the "harder to score" thing is just utter crap. Brits just use that to feel good about themselves.Jenspm wrote:

Ah, of course, because teams like Fulham and the sort are clearly better than Betis and Sevilla. Fail.
Messi would walk into any team. Be it British or Italian. He would score in any league and would beat players in any league. You brits make out the premier league to be so much better than anything else, when it just isn't. Sure, the past few years have been entertaining, but it's as it's just on a completely different level. It isn't. If the Premier League was so damn good with so many good teams, then the basic Liverpool, Manchester and Chelsea trio wouldn't be winning every year or challenging the CL every year. It's soooooo good, yet there seems to be no other contestant for the PL. Fail. Utter fail. But of course, British teams are so much better than anyone else because they're british.
Fine, the PL is the biggest league in the world, and has the most money, but it's certainly not the most entertaining at all times or the best. It's a toss up between La Liga, The Premier League and Serie A (yes, not right now, granted, but it was a good league).
Yes Chelsea did a good job against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. But the fact is that Cech saved you guys. Nobody else. Your defence was solid, but Messi still managed 1 on 1s with Cech. Barcelona made the mistake of trying to pass it in the net instead of taking some risky shots, it was their fault for the 0-0, it wasn't because CHELSEA WERE SO AWESOME. Several times Barcelona were through on goal and failed to score, either because Iniesta tried to pass it again instead of shooting, Messi taking one touch too many in the box, or Eto'o not being patient for the open shot. The mistakes were made on Barcelonas end. Chelsea did do a good job against them, but the harm was self inflicted.
And lol @ the bitterness towards Xavi and shit. Chelsea would have cried as well. It's not as if we house one of the biggest divers in the world (you can guess). I don't care what Barcelona say outside the game, because it makes no difference to the match. So if you're going to start moaning and bitching about how Barcelona say it's "anti football" or shit football, go cry somewhere else, because I only care about the matches and the football involved.
I never said he is the only player who dives, but he is certainly the only player who has received the most yellow cards for diving.blah wrote:

Where was he against Chelsea? He was everywhere and he was creating chances.... Bosingwa was SHIT. The only reason Messi struggled was because Barcelona were too well closed down in the midfield. What match were you watching? Bosingwa fast and more agile? LOL. Yes, that is why he got a straight yellow for even attempting to stop Messi when he got past him. Fine, it wasn't Messis best day, but Bosingwa did fuck all.
The only player who actually may be just as fast as Messi and defend him quite well is Evra. I don't know what match you were watching, but Bosingwa was nowhere. Messi was marked by two players at all times and Dani Alves was not giving him as much support. No player in the world can just magically get past 2 larger and stronger players when they have closed the player down, however good he is. Chelsea did a fine job of scaring him with had tackles and the sort, but claiming that Bosingwa did a fine job is just shit. Added to the fact that you guys were helped by a dick of a referee ( Ballack should have been sent off, there was a clear penalty against Henry ).
Have you ever actually watched Messi? He gets into the box WITHOUT space. Ronaldo certainly doesn't.
And LOL @ "if you can't shoot, you can't score".
Well then, why does Messi have more goals than Ronaldo, and why does he even score? The guy doesn't have a brutal shot on him, all he needs to do is ball fake and pass it to the side of the goalkeeper, like he always does. Doesn't involve much shooting now, does it? (see Barcelonas 5th goal against Madrid)
And since when did Valencia beat Barcelona? What league have you been watching?
