Scene group releases are smaller if you prefer to go with them. Just stick with 720P movies.
Yeah, 720p x264 releases from the Scene give good quality at a good compression. I'd highly reccomend those if you're not ready for full 1080p yet.
I downloaded Dexter series 1 in 720p, each episode was about 40 minutes long.. and ended up at 1GB each.. looks so nice though, even though the full 3 series will total about 50GB.. I need to write some stuff to DVDs... looks so nice...

a very good and informative (though hard to navigate through) web-site, gives you all the info you need. Example: The index of rules for scene releases, or more specifically, the rules for the x264 720p that I mentioned earlier.
And I still download the DVD rips(~700MB). I'll have to give one of this HD rips a go...
